Joint Manipulation

Joint manipulation is a manual therapy technique in which a passive movement is applied to a joint by a skilled clinician with small amplitude and in a quick fashion. This is also known as high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust manipulation. Doctors of Physical Therapy most often used mid-range techniques which are extremely safe. This is done to improve joint mobility, range of motion and decrease muscle tension.

            Cupping and Graston / IASTM

Placing plastic, glass, or bamboo “cups” on the skin creates negative pressure, which pulls the underlying tissue away from the body, resulting in improved perfusion to the affected area. Graston and IASTM tools use specially designed instruments to provide a mobilizing effect to scar tissue and myofascial adhesions. Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is the use of hands-on techniques to manipulate tissue in order to break up scar tissue adhesions, decreasing taut muscle bands, and realignment of collagen fibers to promote optimal healing of injured soft tissue. This combined with mobility and strengthening exercises maximizes outcomes.
